Rules

Solve the same crossword on separate private grids. The first server-confirmed correct finish wins.

  1. Ready together

    Both players press Ready, then the server schedules one shared 3, 2, 1, Go countdown.

  2. Keep grids private

    Both players receive every clue, but neither can see the other player’s letters, selected square, or active clue.

  3. Follow progress only

    Opponent progress is an aggregate filled-square count. It never reveals letters or clue positions.

  4. Solve without hints

    Check and Reveal are unavailable. A full incorrect grid says Not quite—keep looking without identifying any square.

  5. Finish on the server

    The server accepts the first correct full grid. Correct finishes within 500 milliseconds of each other are a draw.

  6. Race again

    A rematch keeps both players, deals a fresh crossword of the same size, clears the round, and requires both players to become ready again.

Creates two fresh private grids. No solo or previous-room letters are copied.
